Eighteen-year-old Carol Shandling, a beautiful young girl who works in a garment factory, has been repeatedly told by her mother that she must only marry a rich man, because her mother who had lived the life of a rich a socialite life prior to marrying her father, a poor man, had been disinherited from her family. After her father’s death, and due to her mother’s illness they were driven into severe poverty, where Carol had to provide for them both. Due to unforeseen circumstances where she works, a jealous co-worker, out for revenge, sets out to harm her in every way possible, because her boyfriend had his eyes set on marrying Carol.
