He retells the particularly bloody history of Cyprus during the twentieth century and considers his own identity as traveler and returner, as Odysseus was.

Light and informative

I recently moved to Cyprus from Lebanon and have developed a strong interest in the culture and history of the island. As I work on integrating myself more into the local community, this book served as an excellent starting point, providing a clear and concise overview of Cyprus's rich history.

The author's ability to truthfully convey both sides of the conflict fairly

Both the historical and recent political developments mentioned in the book. Many facts mentioned are unknown to the average Cypriot both on and off the island. The author's love for Cyprus and his personal journey was heartwarming.
