Internal conflict strikes Asha when she discovers that the surgeons who saved her life and made her what she has become, are working for Smith Cybernetics Inc. and are part of a plot that mass produces androids from replicated human traffick victims. Asha's complex emotional feelings of empathy, loneliness, and love towards the androids is in conflict with her requirement to terminate Smith's operation and the replicants. Asha's intense observations about the nature of life, religion, technology and the human condition culminates with an epic one-on-one battle with another android who she is convinced possesses a human soul.
