Just ok

The story line was better than the book before it but it’s odd when the female narrator reads she gives the character an Irish accent but when the male narrator reads the character for himself he speaks American. So it seems pointless..none the less it’s just ok and it’s free so I don’t feel as I wasted a credit.

Great book

Great book with interesting characters and storyline. Can't wait to start the next book in this series.

Great addition to series

A blend of mystery, light thriller and romance a lot like the Julie Garwood Buchannan series. Revolves around Brooke a FBI agent, her cases and her rich,hot, swoony Irish boyfriend. Brooke can be a hard head and thinks she can take care of herself. Declan loves her and keeps trying to keep her safe as she gets in way over her head in a crime involving a dangerous motorcycle gang.
Liked this book way more than the first one (which was pretty good). Love the side characters, her new work partner/best friend and Brooke's job as an analyst which is very interesting. She continues to find people in high places involved in the crimes.

Another awesome story!

I can't say enough how much I love this series. This installment was just as captivating as the first two. I enjoyed everything about it including the narration.

I liked it, but still have questions

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes and no. Who drugged the Senators daughter? Who is moving drugs that kill in the community? These are the plots to solve. The intrigue was there, but everything wasn't cleared up to my satisfaction. We presume the death was an accident, we find that greed and power were involved..was the Senator involved? Who killed the girls? Who were the dead bodies in the truck? Was it Gray that cooked up the batch of drugs? Did he really have the knowledge to do so? The story wasn't as wrapped up as I thought it should have been.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the book. This was the first time I've had dual readers and I'm not sure that was necessary. Emily was great, Irish accent and all. Alan was fine, but his reading of Declan was adequate, but I liked Emily's better. I would have rated the performance a 3, but Emily's performance swayed me ☺️

I was left a little unsatisifed about the conclusion. Some things weren't clearly settled in my mind. Brooke made many stupid decisions that I felt as FBI she should have known better..she was a bit reckless..and we never heard anything more about Demetri. It's possible that these questions could continue into the next book.

good book however...

this is really a good plot line. however Brooke the female FBI agent isn't a very smart cookie in some of the things she does. you would believe to get in the FBI some of the stupid things would have been bred out of her.

Great book

I love this series of books. The two I have listened have been very suspenseful and that is what I love. My only criticism is that throughout the book Brooke is always saying she can take care of herself. She did in the restroom but other situations it makes her seem dumb to not take her gun into her bathroom and she tries to use back scrubber to protect herself. Get real. In other books that are similar the person would have taken their gun into the bathroom or do a maneuver that the person sneaking in could be taken down. I don’t know if that’s how it is in real life but that’s how it is in movies and books. These situations continue to happen in the book and it doesn’t make sense to me. Either Brooke can protect herself or she needs someone who never leaves her side to do it.

Well written crime drama

The story follows Brook back into the FBI, and more chaos ensues with a motorcycle club. We finally lean why Declan is so understanding of Brook’s work and get introduced to his old friend. The story line is quite good, introducing new friends and possibly a new love interest.
However, I hate heroines who consistently make stupid decisions just to create drama in a story. Brook is still taking crazy risks, still thinks her and a gun or two will protect her from smart criminals or her stubborn refusal to protect herself. There is no way an agent who did this wouldn’t get sent on leave, because she risks herself, fellow agents, and civilians.

Good as usual. Not at all disappointed.

This book was good but a little drawn out. I think we could have come to the
conclusion way sooner.
