Reseñas editoriales

What are crop circles, where do they come from, and how are they made? This short introduction to the topic touches on the history of these mysterious formations, and presents some possible explanations, both spiritual and scientific, for their continued existence. While the focus is on crop circles in southern England, listeners also learn about the existence of these formations elsewhere, as well as the devoted "crop circle artists" who deliberately create them as an artistic practice. Performer Luca James Lee's voice is dignified and calm, and set above vaguely New Age music that soars in the background. Overall, a great taster on an intriguing subject.

Resumen del Editor

Learn about the mystery of crop circles with iMinds insightful audio knowledge series.Crop circles are geometric patterns found in agricultural fields, most often in Southern England. They consist of flattened plant stems lying in regular patterns, some of which are highly complex. Crop circles usually appear in fields of wheat, barley, canola and other common crops. Circles have also been known to appear in grass, sand, and ice. Because of their size - hundreds of feet across - crop circles can only be truly appreciated from the air. There are at least 10,000 reported instances of crop circles to date.

Evidence of crop circles dates back to a 17th century English pamphlet called the “Mowing Devil”. It describes how a farmer, frustrated with the exorbitant wages his labourers were charging, declares that he would rather have “the devil himself” harvest his crop of oats. That night, strange lights appeared in his field, and in the morning a circular pattern was found.

Very informative.

This book was less than 10 minutes long. Which took me by surprise. Nonetheless it was still very informative and very interesting! Definitely worth the listen.

I would love to see one first hand.

They don't seem to make national news here the US each time one is found. I had no idea there have been over 200.

Only 6 minutes?

There’s a lot more information to be told about crop circles tha cannot be told in only six minutes. It feels like it ends without actually having an ending
