Resumen del Editor

Fallacies are everywhere. Basically, people of so many different cultures, backgrounds, and upbringings reach the wrong conclusions because the way they reason is false. It makes sense. Life is complex. We all make mistakes. We all contribute certain consequences to the wrong causes, and we base our opinion on a myriad of assumptions, which are based on previous experiences.

Perhaps, life itself isn’t as complicated as us: the human beings who walk on this planet. Either way, the problem is that we haven’t learned how to reason. We have often failed to see our own flawed patterns. But finding those flaws, no matter how painful it can be for our ego, sometimes, may just be the key to reaching a higher level of intelligence, a better prediction of the future, sound judgment, better analyses and results, and so much more than you can hardly imagine.

In this audiobook, an extensive list of fallacies in our thinking patterns has been provided. Furthermore, we will dive deeper into the problem of criterion, something that has been addressed by many of the great thinkers from the past. In our last chapter, the whole meaning, origin, and specific sophistication of humor will be explained so that you will better understand what makes a person laugh and why.

All of these topics can be points of comprehension in your active mind. Please, consider taking in all this information like a sponge. You’ll soak it up fast and eagerly, once you see the added value of these topics.

I liked it

I think this is a great book to listen to. I highly recommend it because it matters to start reasoning with a bit more logic. I've noticed that if you do, your assumptions will soon fade away and your intelligence will grow. Books like this one make that possible. For sure.

This is a great book

Why is this a great book? Because I'm listening to a debate on YouTube right now in which the defendant uses all kinds of false reasoning and fallacies, and jumps to conlusions that are way off. If people were better able and willing to reason with real logic and draw the right conclusions, many political, religious, and other debates would be solved quickly.

Interesting book

I thought this was really interesting. I was looking for something about OCD. Found some other ones too, but this one seemed the most intriguing to me, and it did not disappoint.

Wrong order of chapters in the audio version.

The chapters are not in the right order. It is very disappointing to see Audible ruin another book.

The Worst Audio Book in My Decades of Listening

Three problems:

#1 - AUDIBLE PLEASE CORRECT - this book played out of sequence on more than one occasion. Chapter 4 came after Chapter 5. Then Chapter 4 played again after Chapter 7. I don't know if this was a download issue to my device, or if it is set up incorrectly in the catalog. Please look into this.

#2 - I could not tell what audience the author intended this book for. It seemed like a broken link dissertation to other professionals and not intended as a readable and understandable series of chapters for common citizens to learn about critical thinking. At times it sounded more like an outline or an abridged version that did not simply explain concepts or provide everyday examples of what the concept was. The book was hard to follow and I got very little out of it. In short, a waste of time and money.

#3 - The reader added to the difficulty in understanding the book and the concepts. Her voice has a droning quality to it that borders on monotony. Not much inflection or use of pauses which could have helped the listener determine where breaks in the writing were intended. Additionally, the reader made several mispronunciations that were distracting to what was already a difficult book to follow. Examples are "E=MC two" for Einstein's Theory of Relativity instead of "E=MC squared" and pronouncing voluminous as "Volume-ness". In short, the wrong reader for a hard to follow book.

I cannot recommend this book to other listeners, and will seek out a better written and more understandable presentation to try to learn about critical thinking.

It is a fake.

It is a fake. my guess is that it is compiled by algorithm, seriously, rather than human being.

Unbearable.
