Don't get voted off this Island

This story held me captive from the moment the boat left the pier. I've met most of these girls in real life, some of them in high school, some at work, and I can relate to neatly all of them. Throw in a desert island and I'm totally on board. Good story! The narrator is bubbly and fun.

An incredible adventure

Listening to this book was an experience I never expected to have.

My mom wrote Crimson Throne before she passed away in January 2024, and hearing her story come to life now feels like getting a small piece of her back. There’s something incredibly moving about listening to words she created, worlds she imagined, and characters she cared about, especially when she’s no longer here to tell me about them herself.

Beyond the personal meaning, this is genuinely a fantastic story. The world-building is rich and immersive, the mystery unfolds beautifully, and the premise, a group of girls stranded on an undiscovered island, pulled me in immediately. There’s intrigue, danger, friendship, and adventure woven together in a way that made it impossible to stop listening. I kept thinking about the characters long after I paused.

I’m endlessly proud of my mom’s creativity and imagination, and grateful to my aunt for helping bring this book into the world. This story deserves to be heard, not just because of what it means to me, but because it’s truly compelling on its own.

If you enjoy immersive fantasy with strong characters and an unfolding mystery, this is absolutely worth your time.

Unexpected adventure with a twist

I've never wondered what could happen if ten teenage girls were stranded on an island. But despite the setting, this story feels relatable. It introduces a lot of the angst and conflict that many of us dealt with at that age, magnified due to the circumstances. Still I wasn't expecting the ending. Nicely done! The author's imaginative storyline drives this book and the narration is upbeat and easy to follow.
