  • EP294: Sid and Nancy Pt 2 of 2
    Mar 31 2026
On the morning of October 12, 1978, the Chelsea Hotel looked like it always did after a long New York night, with its hallways dim, its air heavy, and its secrets still clinging to the walls, but behind the door to Room 100, one of the most infamous mysteries in rock-and-roll history was waiting to be found. Inside, twenty-year-old Nancy Spungen lay bleeding on the bathroom floor, her life ended by a single stab wound, while just feet away, her boyfriend—Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious—stumbled through the room in a haze of drugs, shock, and confusion. What happened in those final hours would become more than a tabloid scandal or a punk-rock tragedy; it would become a case suspended somewhere between love story, crime scene, and cultural collapse, where every witness had a different version, every answer seemed to raise a darker question, and the truth, if anyone ever knew it, may have died inside that room.

I LOVE this podcast. It's everything I love about true crime podcasts all in one place! I want to get right into the story and these ladies do just that. These are well researched cases, most of which I have never heard (I thought that was impossible due to the amount of true crime podcasts I have blown through!) Thank you for everything you ladies do in producing a fabulous true crime podcast. I'm definitely a listener for life!

New favorite podcast!!

I LOVE Tonya and Talia! This was the 2nd true crime podcast I listened to and LOVED from the beginning. I've tried other podcasts but they are NOT Tonya and Talia! Definitely a MUST listen!

My favorite podcast!

Love your podcasts!!!
This guy sounds like a spoiled brat that basically got away with bad behavior starting at a young age. His mother appears to have covered up for him whenever he did something wrong instead of getting him help. Therefore, the result of this escalation is the multiple deaths of vulnerable women. The nerve of her to sue the police department for Toby!
Keep up the good work ladies!

SMH!

Love this show! I love the way y'all give the info straight forward and also play of each other. It's comedic without being disrespectful of the victims.

I love that you get to the point and tell the story but also have great banter between the two of you.

I am officially obsessed with this podcast. I just started it last week & I'm ALREADY almost through every episode. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do when I get caught up.
I love the fact I don't have to fast forward through endless chatter like I do on some podcasts. I love the fact there has only been 2 stories so far of things I've actually heard about before & I listen to all true crime. Lastly, I love that they don't shy away from the gruesome but give a warning before hand in case it might be too much for someone.
All in all, 5 stars. I would give it more if I could.
