Resumen del Editor

Formerly published as Insight Out.

International best-selling author and Stanford University professor Tina Seelig adapts her wildly popular creativity course to a practical guide on how to put your best ideas into action.

For the past 15 years, Professor Tina Seelig has taught her Stanford students how to creatively unleash their unique entrepreneurial spirits. In Creativity Rules, she shares this wisdom, offering inspiration and guidance to transform ideas into reality.

Listeners will learn how to work through the four steps of The Invention Cycle: Imagination (envisioning things that do not yet exist), Creativity (applying your imagination to address a challenge), Innovation (applying creativity to generate unique solutions), and Entrepreneurship (applying innovation to bring ideas to fruition, where our ideas then gain the power to inspire the imaginations of others). Using each step to build upon the last, you can create something complex, interesting, and powerful.

Creativity Rules provides the essential knowledge to take a compelling idea and transform it into something extraordinary.

Stimulating and engaging!

One thing left me with needing more information was examples of one's resources just to jog my mind in ways to help me see my unseen resources.

Good humble story about how to be creative

Good structure, content, and stories.
I liked the Nancy's Special Foods story.
I also liked the idea of the invention cycle.

it's a RePEAT / ReRUN of her 2015 "INSIGHT OUT"

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

BEWARE: This is the 1st REAL REVIEW... this book was released to the public today, Dec 12th. Of course all her friends prior to today gave her book a 5-Stars... shoooot, JUDGE FOR YOURSELVES: Read their basic / cliche'ish reviews.

If you haven’t read her book “Insight Out”... well, then you’ll enjoy it (despite ONLY PRE-2015 Examples, meaning 2014 & OLDER).

If you’re a fan, and already own her other books... including “Insight Out”... well just go back and skim through it (again).

Initially I was only going to give this copy a 2-STAR OVERALL review... because not enough effort was made, nor clarity was given to say THIS IS a RePEAT. This basically has a NEW and IMPROVED COVER SLAPPED on it. Of course the NEW & IMPROVED Title is better... though one can see that the tagline / descriptor stayed the same.

But since I gave her INITIAL COPY of "INSIGHT OUT" a 4-STAR review,... I averaged this one to 3-STARS.

THE Real CHALLENGES with this ReRUN: If you are in a creative field and even a semi-avid reader... the chance of you having already read about the examples she uses in this book, is very high. Even back in 2015, many of her examples were very well known and already been mentioned in many other books, blogs, and magazines (just compare the REFERENCES, they are the same, minus some errors).

Has Creativity Rules turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.. it's not the author's fault that her Publisher decided to RePrint her old book with a new title... all without giving the buyers much of a warning. They didn't even bother calling it a 2nd Edition... though granted, it is not since its just a ReRUN with the same content.

Which scene was your favorite?

Do you think Creativity Rules needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Just a one with NEW and RELEVANT examples... post 2014.

Keep in mind that the majority of the Author's examples are are from 2002 to 2013.

Any additional comments?

DECIDE for YOURSELVES... my SUGGESTION... FIRST Buy the KINDLE Edition, NOT THE HARDCOVER nor PAPER BACK... that way, it is easier to return within 7-DAYS if it is not to your satisfaction.

As a Tina Seelig fan, I hope it was the Publisher's idea to do this RE-RUN, and not hers. From what I hear, she is a very good professor at Standford, and this book is already required reading for her students.
