When Thomas Roe arrived in India in 1616 as James I’s first ambassador to the Mughal Empire, the English barely had a toehold in the subcontinent. Not the type of history i was going for...
yah unfortunately im not going to finish this one, i get its trying to tell history through very personal accounts and stories but it reads more like a non fiction novel than history... its hard to follow the overall timeline and historical narrative because of the frequent deep dives into very personal and quite frankly , uninteresting personal stories, it was not very cohesive to me and almost impossible for me to follow.
