One of the best tools ever!!

Finally a simple book for people wanting a simple explanation. I loved the layout of the book, the process, and examples. He did a great job explaining social skills...way better than an academic discussion like so many other self help books. Will listen again and again. Thanks!

Good communication between couples is critical for a healthy relationship and this audiobook is a great resource. It offers practical advice and skills that every couple can learn from. I recommend it.

Great information

Surprisingly, I'm listening to this book for my husband who has ADHD. Im trying to learn skills of how to not be so frustrated because he has both inattentive and Impulsive ADHD. Im joking but not really ;)

The 5 Cs
Self control.  Compassion.
Collaborative care. Consistency and Celebration are explained.

The topics include creating a positive attitude, Learning how to give correct and precise instructions is very important. They should be Statements instead of options. Rewards and seeing the positive will go a long way and use consequences sparingly.
Conversational skills are discussed, creative activities help children use their minds. Exercise is the best activity for ADHD children though. There's a full chapter of information about how it affects and helps the brain and there's even a list of exercises to do with them. There are many routine suggestions, time management and organization tips too.
There's a lot of great information about schooling and the laws related to disabilities and what forms you can use for your children.

Diagnosises are explained like ODD and EDD,. PTSD and bipolar. The end of chapter nine gives parents a good list of self care options which is the biggest takeaway for me. In the last chapter it deals with thriving as a person with ADHD. Compared to others and explains also other neurodivergent brain activity. As a Divergent person as well I resonated with a lot of this information

AMAZING AND HELPFUL!!

This audiobook takes a unique and captivating approach to exploring communication interactions. It offers methods and ideas for developing closer bonds with your partner in addition to going on about how important communication is. It is filled with practical methods and approaches to strengthen your bond. I gained a lot of knowledge about successful communication from this book, and it has some helpful advice. In order for you and your partner to have a little more of a pleasurable connection, I would suggest this book to those who might need it as a guide.

A must listen

Fabulous book! A quick, easy listen that I think will totally revolutionize my connection to others. I always thought I was a good listener but I now realize I was missing that key piece: validation. I wish I would have found this book sooner. A ‘must listen’ for everyone!

The writer very succinctly and clearly walks you through what validation is and how to do it. I found it useful and interesting!
