A great guide!

This book is helping me become more confident by teaching me some new skills. It showed me how to build authority while being my self, overcome self-doubt, and earn respect. I learned how to communicate more clearly, and make better decisions. I working on how to buil a stronger team, and build a lasting positive impact. I wish I had found this book years ago.

Know You Aren't Alone

Having spent over 35 years in the corporate world and navigated my way from an entry level position, to director, to VP, to CEO I have no regrets. I can honestly say it hasn't been easy. I found it was a balancing act - work, family, self care and in many instances I felt toally alone. This book would have been a great resource and it would have been reassuring hearing the other similar stories and experiences. I stayed true to myself and lead by example. This book is a great resource that outlines how to lead and gives clear examples of the problems, consequences and opportunities that arise throughout leadership at all levels of an organization.

An Important Set of Skills for Women Leaders

This book is very much in line with my own thinking about women and leadership. The parts I found the strongest connection to are the sections on navigating gender bias and stereotypes and finding strategies for establishing and maintaining a work-life balance.

The author has targeted eight strong and important leadership skills (counting the #8 Bonus chapter on empowering future female leaders) for today’s professional woman. I feel that Skill #4—Building a Supportive Network is important because as women, we are still battling gender stereotypes and dealing with imposter syndrome.

I had not thought as much about maintaining psychological safety and team dynamics as the other skills, probably because I’m a one-person business at the time. I will have to listen this part again and think more about it.
