Fictionalize story of a man who joined the Navy

If I can do it, so can you.
I am a nature photographer who, on rainy days, stays indoors and tries to write.
I am also a cancer survivor (so far) in my eighties.
I am very grateful for each day, to the point where I have created my own lifestyle and school of thought (a kind of personal religion).
I cannot always write, but I make an effort.
Modern tools, especially KDP, have made it easy and free to share ideas. This is a fictional story, but I did serve in the Navy.
My goal is to inspire people my age to be creative.
Ignore the criticisms of naysayers; that's just what they do.
My advice is simple: have an idea? Write it with the help of AI and share it.
That’s what this is about.
