A traumatic childhood event tore Natalie’s life apart and left her grappling with issues of racism and faith. Hurt and confused, Natalie turned her back on the church, and severed her relationship with the God whose love she had once been so sure of. After struggling for years to find solid ground, Natalie’s life is finally coming together. She is married to a loving and supportive husband, her teaching career is flourishing, and she has surrounded herself with loyal friends. Just when it seems as if everything is going well, an incident at work threatens to derail Natalie’s carefully constructed life and stirs up feelings of bitterness and hatred that she had worked so hard to suppress. Now her career, her marriage, and her friendships are in jeopardy. Can Natalie find stability in the God she turned her back on years ago? Doris is a widow who decides to move across the country and restart her career after the death of her husband. She leans on God’s strength to cope with her grief, but regret and guilt for her hidden sins and failures seem to torment her even as she tries to bring peace and love into the lives of others. Is God’s forgiveness enough, or are there some sins that are too great to go unpunished? Color and Light is the story of two women who work together to find peace and hope in the face of tragedy.
