The hunt for mass murderer Cara Lindstrom is over. FBI Special Agent Matthew Roarke has been working for this moment: the capture of a killer who savagely hunts the worst of humanity. But Roarke remains traumatized by his own near-death at the hands of the serial killer who slaughtered Cara's family...and haunted by the enigmatic woman who saved his life.

Then the sixteen-year-old prostitute who witnessed Cara's most recent murder goes missing, and suddenly pimps are turning up dead on the streets of San Francisco, killed with an MO eerily similar to Cara's handiwork.

Is a new killer on the loose with a mission even more deadly than hers? In the pulse-pounding third Huntress/FBI Thrillers book, Roarke will have to go on the hunt...and every woman he meets, even those closest to him, may prove deadly.

I am really loving this detective series! A Female serial killer who is trying to stop bad guys from hurting young girls and women, is really interesting.

The first 60 chapters are gripping and take the reader deep into the horrorifying culture that condones (actively or passively) the sex trafficking of teenagers. It also portrays what can happen (politically and violently) when women say "no more" to this culture. No one can read this book without wanting to intensify efforts to stop such trafficking and bring (legal) justice to its victims.

I have a problem with the last 14 chapters, but I can't go into detail without spoiling the plot. It appears that there is a fourth volume on the horizon. Let me just say that the romance(s) in the novel did not please.

Excellent story about trafficking teenage girls

Where does Cold Moon rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The mispronunciations of place names was distracting and irritating...Noe as in Noe Valley has two syllables, and Sutter is not pronounced "Suiter".

What three words best describe R.C. Bray’s voice?

The voice is just right for the content.

As a native San Franciscan

I really like Roark and Cara's characters. I like their connection and Inwas curious to see where it would go. I didn't catch on to the theme of the books but it was beyond clear in this one. I found it fitting especially with everything going on in society and how trafficking people is still a huge industry. It is an industry I don't understand and it saddens me that it does. What I like most is how as female centric this is, the main character is male. I'd think a story like this would follow someone like Cara or even I. this book the social worker woman. I am always curious what happens next.

Good Continuation

As I suspected, all three books of the Huntress series should be read in order. They are all outstanding.

Please excuse the brevity of this review. If you read the Huntress Moon and liked it, I cannot concieve of you not reading the entire trilogy.

Cold Moon is a great finish for this trilogy.

Alrighty then, I didn’t like this book nearly as much as the other 2. Roarke was just toooo obsessed with the serial killer Cara. He started lying to his partner Epps and even though Epps knew that most of the time Roarke was lying he didn’t call him on it. Which, IMO, he should have.

I did feel bad for 16 year old prostitute Jade but she killed too many men and then got away with it, just like Cara. And because he was so screwed up over his feelings for Cara Roarke has taken a leave of absence, but he went back to Pismo Beach where Cara laid low for a while with Mark Sebastian and his 5 year old son Jason. Like Roarke thought Cara might show up there again? His mind was just too involved with Cara that he couldn't work like he should have. For the first 50% of the book that's all it was about. It got boring after a while. Then it changed to other murders and it got better, but he was still obsessed and lying about it.

This just wasn’t as good as the first 2 books but I’m hoping book 4 will be better.

No sex and the F-bomb was used 55 times.

As to the narration: Even R.C. Bray wasn’t as good this time. There was soooo many times the book said someone whispered or spoke in hushed tones and Mr. Bray read in a rather loud voice. I can put up with a lot of bad reading but when it says WHISPER and the narrator doesn’t it throws me right out of the book. His female voices were better, though.

Not as good as the others, book nor narration..
