An awesome listen for your next road trip!

I listed to this book during a trip to Pascagoula, Mississippi from metro Atlanta, Georgia and barely remember making the drive. This story utterly transported me into a space both between and unseen that I've always sensed but have never quite been able to name. I found myself rooting for Preston as I felt my own ordinary road trip become extraordinary with a consciousness of what other realities might be unfolding just below the surface of my mundane life. I especially enjoyed how Preston's unfolding steps released the pain of others and how his redemption seemed inextricably tied to the fragility of accidental friendships. Hearing A.J. Hartley's voice at the end of the book surprised me, and it was nice to hear a bit of the background. Having zero knowledge of, or connection to, the setting and legends did not at all spoil the effect this book had on me...that, somewhere just beyond our awareness, great stories (like ghosts) live on.
