Nice book but very bad narrator

I liked the plot and writing style but over exaggerated accents of the narrator take all joy.

Just OK

Unlike the author's Rex Nihilo series, these books are not comedic in tone. (Although I did thoroughly enjoy the moment in the gift shop, threatening the baboons.)

Instead, it revolves around an interesting but highly contrived system of time travel, along with an effort to fight... nebulous demons?

The voice actor does a good job, but this book would have been better with separate voice actors for male and female parts. especially since there are two characters with French accents - having them sound exactly the same is a bit confusing.

This isn't really a self-contained story, but is just the first part of a story spread across multiple novels. However, I'm not interested enough to continue the series and see how the story turns out.
