Resumen del Editor

Steve Frost had dreams of wearing the national championship belt in mixed martial arts, maybe even going pro, but instead finds himself working as a security guard for the rich and famous in LA.

Quickly earning a reputation for his blunt and precise people management skills, he lands a position on the security team for an up-and-coming boyband, Atrous. Years later, he’s head of security. He knows these boys, and with countless tours, flights, car trips, public events, and concerts, he’s closer to one band member in particular.

Jeremy’s been a pillar for Atrous since day one, but even more so these last few months. Now the face of the band more than ever, he’s also got himself the attention of a delusional stalker-fan.

When the fame and stress become too much, when Jeremy’s health takes a hit, Steve becomes Jeremy’s lifeline. But as Jeremy knows already, and as Steve is about to learn, not even the brightest star can shine forever.

4.25 Stars 🌟

This is the second book in this series that revolves around the popular band Atrous. This time, we are following Steve - the head of the security team for the band - and Jeremy - one of the most popular band members and Maddox's best friend.

Steve has a secret trauma from his past that he has tried to forget, but even knowing that he shouldn't, he has developed feelings for Jeremy even though he thinks those feelings can never be returned. Why? Because Jeremy is straight. He has had a parade of girls during the entirity of the years Steve has worked with the band.

This story is different from the story arc of book 1 because we watch Jeremy trying to deny the feelings that he has begun feeling for Steve because they confuse him. He can't find a way to classify them and is having a hard time understanding what these feelings mean.

Also, there is a stalker who has been sending threatening letters to Jeremy as well as to the record label that manages the band. This puts things in motion. Steve is basically on lock down with Jeremy for his safety and this is what begins to break down the barriers between the two of them.

I enjoyed this book and really liked Steve and Jeremy as characters. It was also fun to get to see Maddox and Roscoe again and to see that they were still going strong.

I mentioned in the review for Code Red that the overuse of the exclamation "Christ" became extremely bothersome and then, just annoying. Not because of the actual word, but because the exclamation was used to excess. It felt like every other sentence contained it and it began to pull me out of the story. When I say every other sentence, I'm not exaggerating - well, maybe I am, but it TRULY felt that way.

Other than that, I loved the narration by Nick J. Russo and I think he did a great job.

I'm not sure if there will be any more books in this series or if this was the end, but if there are more books, I will definitely be continuing on.

Just WOW!!

This series is the best I've listened to in quite a while. Plenty of snuggle time perfectly mixed with main story line. And Nick you really nailed it! Great job! I got Blue first then went back for Red and the listened to Blue again. Now I so have a book hangover. Thank NRW for this wonderful story.. Just WOW!

Omg!!! Great story

This is one of the best stories I have listened to in a long time. Awesomely written and Nick J Russo did a wonderful job bringing all of these men to life, giving each one a personality of their own. these men are so caring and giving. Brothers until the end. Get these books, they are so wonderful. well worth the credit and your time to listen.

Even better than Code Red

While Atrous are a typical boy band who sings and dances, members Maddox and Jeremy are also serious musicians on guitar and piano who write the songs they perform. During the latest album and tour, Maddox has taken a step back and Jeremy has taken more of the lead role in the band. When a stalker puts Jeremy’s safety at risk, security is increased. Steve, the Security Lead hiding some personal secrets, acts as Jeremy’s body guard and temporarily moves into his house. Jeremy, a straight guy working through recent feelings for Steve, is not too upset over the temporary changes. Jeremy and Steve are further brought together when Jeremy has some health emergencies. Will Jeremy open up about his feelings? Will he find out Steve’s hidden secrets?

This is the 4th book I’ve listened to from N.R. Walker and it’s my favorite. Probably because GFY was done so well with a slow burn. There were some logistical inconsistencies within the book, but the sweetness of the book overrode it. I loved the narrator’s distinct voices; playful Jeremy and professional Steve. For the best experience, listen to the first book, Code Red, first.

Better than code red

Code red was good. It was a bit predictable and not very complex. This one has much more plot twists and is an interesting fun read.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, nice flow, relatively low drama and more story than sex (which I prefer) - I liked the way the relationship developed and Jeremy grew in confidence and found himself. Was perfect for a lazy Sunday listen.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoy Nick Russo as a narrator, he suits the characters, has good timing, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance.

Enjoyable follow up

Love how Nick J Russo brought these characters to life and enjoyed hearing Jeremy and Steve’s story having met them in Code Red. There’s something about the use of “Dickbag” as a term of endearment that I find utterly charming. Personally, I find the song lyrics a bit cringe and unnecessary, but otherwise it’s a sweet love story with a good amount of angst.

Great Read/Audible

I loved this book. It was such a good read. I was hooked from page one. It had a good amount of drama, lots of flirting, and pretty emotional. I loved book 1 but I felt a little better of a connection between Steve and Jeremy. These two characters stole my heart, Steve’s back story was so sad you can’t help but love him. And Jeremy’s personality was great. He definitely had me laughing more than a few times.

I loved the sense of family between all the characters and how it continued throughout both books. Great read / audible. I will definitely be relistening to these books.
