What could David Christopher Lane have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He is fine, it's the content. It's mundane, with a heavy liberal slant and bias. Boring. Predictable.

Premise: "Be tolerant, but only if you think like me. If you don't you aren't tolerant." Yawn.

discombobulated
This constituted a discombobulated attempt by a reductionist (Lane) to defend another reductionist (Churchland) in a squabble she had with a podcaster during an interview. All in all, both the podcaster AND Churchland do not end up looking very good after all the facts are in. EG Churchland who first (mis)quotes a study, then backtracks claiming she was referencing a second study BUT she paraphrases the first one. Gibberish.
