Jesus said people will know that we are Christians by our love.

We need to remember that the church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints.

If I see you come into my church and I can tell you have been drinking or you are high, if you stink of sin, if you look beaten down from the vices that you have let rule your life then you need to know I will walk right up to you and hug you because you are right where you need to be.

It took tremendous courage for you to walk through those doors. I know God must be doing a work in your life and I will do anything in my power to help facilitate that work that God is doing in you. I will not stand in your way. I will not judge you. I will not condemn you or give you speeches on what is appropriate in the house of God.

I am ready to witness a miracle. And I will stand beside you until you can stand on your own.

This is how we should be. We need to be single minded and focused on what actually matters.

But is that what we are known for? Do we love each other? Do we love fellow believers? Do we love our own families? Do we love people in general? Do we love our enemies?

It is the way we should be identified. It should be our qualifier.

This book addresses Christians in today's time that have lost sight of our mission. It is a call to come back to the basics of our faith and actually make an impact on the world and on eternity. It is an easy read written for the common person. It is a reminder to stop arguing, stop judging, stop acting superior and just learn to love people.

as an ordained minister, I felt like I was in the rightous path. listening to this story being told in a way that's very casual and matter of fact, he uses scripture along with everyday life to show we aren't as good as we may think we are. for every "good" thing I think I'm doing, I've learned and became aware that there are so many areas that need improvements to truly be a man of God. I absolutely loved this book and will re-read it over and over again!
