The overall purpose of this book examines the Christological spirituality of the Servant of God Fr Avertan Fenech, Carmelite, in his writings and life. Its method is an intertextual and hermeneu- tical analysis of Fr Avertan’s writings, consisting mainly of meditations and conferences for nov- ices placed under his direction and formation, as well as his personal writing; his sources were also evaluated. The aim is to reveal the image of Je- sus Christ developed in Fr Avertan’s writings and spiritual writings and spiritual life.
Warren James Borg Ebejer (b. 1994) is a Secular Third Order Carmelite. He is a Lecturer at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. In 2012, he completed his induction course in Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (T.E.F.L.) and read for a B.A. (Melit.) in English Literature in 2015. In the same year, he received his Diploma of Fellow in pianoforte playing from the Victoria College of Music and Drama, London. In 2016, he completed his P.G.C.E. (Melit.) in English, after which he read for an M.A. (Melit.) in English (Modern and Contemporary Literature and Criticism), with the completion of a dissertation entitled "According to Thy Word: The Modern Madonna in Early Iwentieth and Twenty-First Century English Literature" in 2018. In the same year, he furthered his studies in reading for an M.A. (Melit.) in Spirituality (Carmelite Stream). In recognition of his outstanding performance in research for his dissertation, "Christ Our Perfection: The Christological Spirituality of Fr Avertan Fenech, Carmelite", he received the Special Award at the Dean's Awards Ceremony from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Malta in 2022.
