Good as all the Rest.

Just like the previous lessons I enjoyed this one as well. Same criticisms as always. The units are not long enough to justify the cost & they don't explain sentence structure very well. Other than that I learn all the words fairly easily & am able to move onto the next unit. I had some trouble with learning the directions. Again that comes down to them not explaining why they use certain words vs others very well, but I eventually figured it out. I do notice my word retention is not as good as some other Chinese courses I have taken, but it is definitely good enough for me to keep using this program.

Too much filler.

Pimsleur for Mandarin isn't bad but there are some frustrating things about it. The biggest issue is that they'll gloss over a few phrases — for example: "how many hours" in Mandarin — but when it comes to numbers they'll spend over an hour across 25 lessons making you repeat the same numbers over and over again even though the counting system barely changes once you get to double digits and triple digits. It is lazy filler and some other pimsleur courses are heavy on numbers, but never this bad. I have had to skip entire lessons because they're just making you repeat different sequences of numbers over and over again.
