Resumen del Editor

The planet Lusitania is home to three sentient species: the Pequeninos, a large colony of humans, and the Hive Queen, who was brought there by Ender Wiggin. But now, once again, the human race has grown fearful; the Starways Congress has gathered a fleet to destroy Lusitania. Ender's oldest friend, Jane, an evolved computer intelligence, can save the three sentient species of Lusitania. She has learned how to move ships outside the universe, and then instantly back to a different world, abolishing the light-speed limit. But it takes all the processing power available to her, and the Starways Congress is shutting down the network of computers in which she lives, world by world.

Soon Jane will not be able to move the ships. Ender's children must save her if they are to save themselves.

Children of the Mind is the fourth book in Orson Scott Card's The Ender Saga.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"This is a worthy ending to what might be styled a saga of the ethical evolution of humanity, a concept seldom attempted before and never realized with the success Card achieves here." (Booklist)

"Card's prose is powerful." (Publishers Weekly)

great read any time

this book answers a lot of questions that the last two didn't answer. I love it.

A good end to the series

Speaker for the Dead was probably my favorite book of the series but Children of the Mind did do a good job of neatly (for the most part) wrapping up this series.

Just Ok

Any additional comments?

Not a terrible Sci Fi story, it's just that none of the sequels live up to Enders Game.

Sibling bickering

The book was great, the performance was engaging! The Sibling bickering got to be too much and I had to stop for a while. The Sibling bickering was not resolved. Too bad.

On to the next one in the series.

Ender

What a great book, what a great ending. Once again sad that a series has ended.

Good, but not the best in the series.

Any additional comments?

This is my third Orson Scott Card book, having read Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. I hadn't meant to read the final book in the series before having read Xenocide, but I was able to fill in the blanks through reference. As in previous books, Card masterfully tells a story that expands my thinking. It includes characters with differing viewpoints, capabilities, histories, and agendas who face personal and community threats. The drawback is the number of soap-opera-like love stories that composed the main focus of the book. The book ends on a positive note, with the main characters looking toward the future with hope. I'm glad to have read this, though I enjoyed the first two books the most in the series.

another step in a great series

I love the story and the philosophy behind it, however there were times in the book that all I could feel was delayed and anxious to get back to the real story. a lot of the conversations Peter engaged in with on other worlds felt forced and more as a filler. Quara's character feels unbearably one dimensional locked in some sort of child like arrogance that feels too shallow to actually exist... If Orrasan's intent was for us to absolutely hate the Quara character, he has succeeded... I hated every motivator she had in every statement... so arrogantly linear and unbelievably nieve.
