Orphan Lights, the third book in Jana Smith’s Children of Light series, is a gripping story of faith, sacrifice, and the fight to protect the most vulnerable in a world unraveling under tyranny.

As the shadows of oppression deepen, Emma must escape the Master's warriors as they scour the earth for Shaheen’s killer. To protect Shaheen’s children and their mother, Emma brings them to a secret orphanage. Unknown to the children’s guardians, these little ones are the recipients of an unimaginable gift, one which Emma ignites and then must protect.

With enemies closing in, she must rely not on her strength, but on the God who promises to be a refuge for the fatherless. Emma’s courage is tested to its limits as she embraces the call to live—and, if necessary, die—for the children she has vowed to protect.

Through perilous journeys and hidden sanctuaries, the orphans, their caregivers, and protectors discover that hope, though fragile, is unbreakable when rooted in God’s promises. Light shines most brightly when darkness presses hardest, and each child’s life becomes a testimony to the resilience of faith.

Rich with emotional depth, spiritual reflection, and edge-of-your-seat suspense, Orphan Lights is both a stirring adventure and a reminder that God’s light cannot be overcome. Readers will be drawn into a story that speaks to the heart, urging them to trust God’s purpose even in the bleakest times.

Perfect for fans of speculative Christian fiction, Jana Smith’s Orphan Lights will resonate with readers of Joel C. Rosenberg, Jerry B. Jenkins, and Tosca Lee—delivering a powerful story of hope that lingers long after the final page.

While the post rapture story line is pure fiction with no sound biblical base, it is intriguing as fiction. This book series would be so much better without the virtual voice. Some word pronunciations are a brutal fail. If you keep listening past the end, the next virtual “assistant” (and I use that term loosely) makes suggestions for books that can be BOUGHT with my PLAYER! It is the nastiest sounding snotty voice that never fails to make me wish “she” was real so I could slap her. If Audible wants to sell more books, they need to fire her. Her unpleasantness guarantees I’ll never purchase on of the suggestions. Also sample cuts off before anyone could possibly get interested. The opening credits rarely draw in a reader.

Novel plot idea for this series, but virtual voice underwhelming.
