Book two of the Hearts Series. Each book is a stand-alone and can be listened to in any order, but it is helpful to listen to Shared Hearts first, as it gives details about the characters.
Lily has spent her entire career climbing the ranks at a prestigious law firm. She’s determined to become a partner at any cost. But just when she thinks her dream is within reach, her boss's charming but arrogant nephew, Kevin, arrives. He’s convinced the coveted position should be his! Forced to work together on the firm's biggest celebrity case yet, the two sworn enemies must put aside their rivalry. As they dive deeper into the high-stakes lawsuit, the pair uncovers shocking secrets that tie them both to the lawsuit in unexpected ways. They discover a web of family and ex-boyfriend drama that complicates everything they thought they knew about each other. In the end, Lily and Kevin must decide if they can trust one another to win this case, and whether there's room for something more than just professional rivalry between them.
"Shared Hearts", I found that, while I loved it, I had guessed the twist. "Chasing Hearts" on the other hand. I DID NOT SEE THIS ONE COMING! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me start at the beginning. I was so happy that this was from Lily's POV. I loved getting to know her like I know Mae from book 1. It made the world feel more real. I love love love the dynamic between Lily and Kevin. It felt very real as well. Their banter and flirting was so refreshing, funny, and adorable. My favorite part was the pajama scene, iykyk. The entire time, I was guessing at who did what and how they were connected and even then, I didn't guess it. I was close to the truth but didn't see it coming. I was 100% surprised and I don't think my eyes could open any wider at the amazement of how Leigh hid it. If you think you got it, no you don't, keep reading! This rounded up the story of Mae and Lily SO well and I can't wait to read what Leigh cooks up next. I know it's going to be just as great!
The narrator did a great job but the way the lines were read was a bit annoying. It could have just been the speed I was listening to it haha. Overall, this was great!
An amazing sequel!
