For Larry Cowsert, the concept was shaped by lessons he learned from his grandfather and others close to him through their use of "sayings" and aphorisms. These lessons were so profoundly impactful that Cowsert decided to chronicle them here in a captivating, easy-to-read book, so that others can learn from and use them to develop their own concepts of character.
These aphorisms were funny, clever, provocative, and even harsh, but they captured the author’s attention and demanded thought. In these pages, the author refers to these "sayings" as lessons and, by using places, times, and people in history, shows the reader just how each can help improve and strengthen our own character.

Loved this book!
I loved the homespun stories and knowledge in this book. "Someone put sand in the Vaseline!". I've listened to tons of audio books. The narrator can make or break the book. I love that it is read by the author Larry Cowsert. He is very enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend this book!
