Something happened to Jeremy after being lost in Hurricane Libby. Beau was there when the rescue team found him in the devastating aftermath of the storm and he was different—inhuman. But instead of trusting her with his new abilities, he left her to face a town where people believed her a lunatic for her eye witness account.
Fast forward eight years, Jeremy is back in their hometown, but Beau wants nothing to do with him. She does not know that part of the reason he has returned home is to restore her reputation. He will do whatever it takes to make right the wrongs he caused, even if means to keep up the lie that he is normal. If she finds out what he is, she will become a target for savage and ruthless enemies of the league he serves. There is a war going on unseen to the natural world.
