Riveting

I’m not the biggest fan of these types of books but I’m a huge Ronan Farrow fan (and a friend of The Pod) so I had to read this one. I found the writing remarkably engaging, poignant and occasionally funny. A must read to really understand how our world works these days.

Favorite bit was Jonathan telling Ronan to tip the taxi driver really well since he had just had an emotional breakdown in the back seat.

vivid description of the reporting that will be looked upon in the future as a turning point in American history, journalism and politics. intrigue and thrill worthy of the big screen. great narration by the author.

Better in print, perhaps

This book is both entertaining and deeply important. I am i pressed with Farrow’s perseverance, honesty and articulate storytelling. His hand in bringing down a system that abused and silenced women for decades should never be forgotten.

BUT- I wish I had read this in print instead of listening to the audiobook. I found Farrow’s impressions and accents deeply distracting and at times, ridiculous. I am baffled that a producer would sign off on this bizarre approach. I wonder how some of the brave interview subjects feel about his impressions of their voices??

Great & important story..,but

Have great respect for Ronan Farrow & applaud his courage & tenacity..,but would have enjoyed listening much more with a straightforward narration. Found accents distracting & off-putting.

Fantastic book, questionable accents

Loved the book, excellent work by Ronan Farrow. However his accent work, well, it leaves something to be desired. Otherwise, fantastic. Highly recommend the book!

I hope somebody learns a darn lesson

Well, fascinating ... disgusting ... not surprising and yet, shocking. The way some rich and powerful men in this world behave is mind boggling. Every single one who gets caught and their money can't save them, is a small bit of justice. They cannot fall hard enough as far as I'm concerned.

If you don't know, this book is primarily about the investigative reporting into sexual assault/harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein and others and the lengths that both Weinstein and NBC went to in order to bury the story. I mean, not only was his behavior reprehensible but don't worry there was more reprehensible right around to corner to protect it. I guess I'm angrier about all this than I realized, LOL.

The book was well-written and well-paced. Fairly comprehensive. Parts of it felt like fiction. What just absolutely BOGGLES my mind is - how much sex does a person need to have in their lives? And with how many partners? Good lord, I just don't get it.

Probably would have been a 5-star read, but I did the audio. Farrow read it himself, and he was actually a great narrator until he did the accents. This is a serious topic. Don't cheapen it with your caricatures - I know your mom is Mia Farrow, but there's a time and place and I didn't feel this was the time for Russian spy voice, Trump and Woody Allen impressions, etc. So I dropped a star for that. Sorry, Ronan. Other than that, it was great.

loved this book. My first audio book,who doesn't like to be read to. spectacular. will most definitely recommend this book.

Eye opening, infuriating, and inspiring.

an amazing and needed journalistic journey

this books is truly amazing and was much needed. the conspiracy is deep and I learned so much and am forever changed.

you'll also not find a bigger Ronan Farrow fan then me, I think his journalistic integrity is beyond reproach and I devour everything he puts out.

that said, Bruh, what are you doing with these accents!? they're bad. real bad. and they undercut the performance and importance of the book and ate distracting. in War on Peace, you did accents too but I thought maybe you learned a lesson. please hire actors or don't do the accents. please.
