Worthy of Tolkien

It was a really well-written story that swept me up and had me on tender hooks throughout. I suggest this for fans of Lord of the Rings, Inheritances Cycle, or Harry Potter.

Wonderful book for all ages

I loved everything about this book and the narration is fabulous. There is family, kindness, humour, adventure, and just enough peril to keep it exciting without straying from its cosiness. I’m a 70 year-old reader of Vic lit and there is nothing anachronistic in it, it’s pitch-perfect. I just want more from this author. It’s so rare that my grandchildren and I love the same series.

Great book, although I wish there were more actual dragons. Definitely a page turner (even tho I’m just listening to it)!

Ramps up the Subtlety and Iconography!

The best so far!

This novel has some of the most compelling dragon scenes, imagery, and lore as well as some of the most sophisticated, touching, and emotional character beats. I particularly think Miss Baehr shines when she gives the Christian themes as much development as she does here.

As always, Edith is a great narrator and the diction and use of imagery and metaphors is quite good. Like the first two books, Castle of the Winds does struggle from a slightly fragmented plot, but this is the tightest plot so far, with good use of foreshadowing and payoff.

I’m already into book five, and Castle of the Winds is still my favorite!

The book is great: the audio is greater

The story is fascinating, and the performance makes it even more compelling. This book is one of the best ever. It is worthwhile reading again and again

Wonderful!

I loved this 3rd book in the series. It was well a written, clean and engaging story that handled some included difficult topics carefully and with thought. These difficult topics were also included as part of the story and not as sensationalism or extra drama. I love the main character and her growth and understanding as well as her care for others as shown in this story. The performance was perfect and added to the story and narrative perfectly!
