The Suspect of the most recent homicide? Yeah, Zoe knows him. He’s been her crush for years. Zoe is always the responsible one. She picks up shifts when her mom is too sick to work. She helps with her younger siblings as well as attends community college full time. But Zoe has one weakness: her boss’s son, Case.

When he pulls her into a bush on her way to work, covered in blood and begging for help, she can’t walk away. Determined to prove his innocence, Zoe breaks rules, lies, and ignores warnings to discover what really happened. Will her feelings for Case cloud her judgment, putting not only herself but her family in danger? All for a boy who may not be telling the truth.

This book has a great story to it. The MFC is the oldest sibling and is helping her sick mom take care of her younger brother and sister. That dynamic alone is relatable to so many. She has been friends with the MMC since childhood but they had grown apart despite each secretly liking the other. When his life gets complicated, they are reunited and finally realize their love. But will they ever get to be together with everything crashing around them? Find out!

Excellent story line

So it wasn't bad, but in the middle of the book it's a big giveaway of who the killer was that I just kinda loss interest on what happened after since it was no longer a surprise for me. Still that epilogue wants me to continue to the sequel. Not bad for a mystery/romance book without any spicyness.

Pretty predicatble
