Dalton Stride just wants to be left alone. Retiring to the Pacific Northwest in the aftermath of a deadly training accident, all he wanted was to lead a life of leisure, spend time connecting to the daughter he didn’t know he had, and ask a very important question of his girlfriend.

Those plans are put aside when Stride’s uncle calls and asks him to help out a friend whose daughter is missing in the Cascades.

With his knowledge of wilderness survival, and the area where the girl went missing, he’s the best option to locate the missing hiker. Partnered with a corporate troubleshooter, Stride heads deep into the Cascade Mountain Range. They soon discover the hiker isn’t missing as the evidence points towards her being kidnapped. Forced to confront not only nature but the inner workings of the corporate world, Stride faces off against a group he brushed up against a year previous, and the relatively simple task of locating a missing person becomes far more complicated.

Calling on all his skills and experience, Stride is forced to fight to stay alive not only against the harsh savageness of the mountains, but also against the demented mindset of those unwilling to give up what they have taken.
