It Started Off OK….But Lost Me!

I love all types of shifter stories, and the summary to Carver really caught my attention. I was excited to listen, but sadly as the story unfolded, I just could not connect to either the plot or characters.

Overall, it was an OK story, and it had an interesting concept of a guardian and shifters; however, the delivery of the plot left me confused, lost, and frustrated with all the jumping around. Many of the scenes felt under-developed, and l was left with more questions than answers. I thought there were too many scenes, ideas, and time jumps packed into such a short story.

This is the first story I've heard narrated by David Quimby, and he did a decent job. He used the right amount of tones, and inflections to convey the different emotions throughout the story.

I gave the story an overall 3 stars. I didn't dislike the book, I just felt confused throughout the story. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Exciting Read

I received this audio book free for an honest review. The author of this book writes a story that grabs you from the beginning and keeps you there until the end. Monique is a very unique and lonely woman hiding from her past. Carver is the Alpha with a pup whose mom has been killed. There is suspense, thrill, romance and magic in this book. I loved the writing and the narrating. I have another book of Ms. Foxxe's waiting in the wings to listen to. This one I purchased. Great author. Worth buying her stuff.

Different but good

for a shifter book this one is different from most I have listened to. a good different.
the story is well thought and the characters are well created . The narrator is very good.

Light, fluffy, and totally enjoyable

What an enjoyable listen! I love shifter stories, and this one was a lot of fun. Foxxe's writing was incredibly engaging, the smut was smoking hot, and I found myself actually invested in the action and the love story. If you are looking for a well narrated romance novel with well written action and some actual plot, you will enjoy this book.

Also, you should know that this audiobook was given to me for free in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Unexpected!!!

I received this book from the author, narrator, or publisher in exchange for my unbiased opinion and review...

I love paranormal romance and this story was different from any other for me. It has some nice moving parts that will keep you interested. It was a shorter listen but I didn't feel rushed. I liked the narrators voice but would've preferred to hear a woman's voice for the female parts.

Outstanding

Carver(Alpha Wolf), Kirk(Carver's unique son with extraordinary skills), Monique(rescued Kirk from the crazy Brennen who wanted power) are three very unique individuals who make this story very good. I loved the story and the way that each character came to life within the story. The narrator was very good and made the entire listening experience outstanding.

What did you love best about Carver?

The Narration was just a plus for me but I really liked the story it truly had a lot going on but hey I would rather have a lot than nothing at all. I loved Monique and her background. Sorry I may be a drama queen because I really wanted Paul and Monique to have a fling...I know she is in love already...shame on me!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Carver?

When Monique found out she was more than what meets the eye...I don’t want to give the entire story away but the first time it happened...GREATNESS!!

Any additional comments?

I was given this book in return for my honest unbiased opinion. I really enjoyed this book and felt confident after it ended. I know it leaves the story open but I also feel good about the characters and not that cliffhanger feeling of really you just left me hanging. Don't get me wrong I would love to hear more but I don't feel like the ending robbed me. I am a fan!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Carver to be better than the print version?

I have only listened.

What does David Quimby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is a great storyteller. Monique's accent was good and the rest were good. Rather than try to have different voices for each he became a storyteller. Often, that is the best method, as in this book.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the shifter story, with some almost Indian Lore based roots. The love story of Monique and Carver, with the pup Kirk. There seemed to be a number of enemies. Teamwork and their tight relationship made them come out ahead each time. Good story, one that I will listen to again. I do recommend.

Great Book

What made the experience of listening to Carver the most enjoyable?

I loved all the shifters. I did get a bit confused when a bit of time was skipped in the book and it was about 5 years later, but once i understood what happened it was great.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the little puppy. and of course Carver.

I really liked monique.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it left off with a bit of a cliff hanger on how things would all work out for monique and the other two. would have much preferred knowing the answer and for the winner to be the one she was already with
