This book should have been a standalone. Because it has nothing to do with the other three books. Prior to this, all Cartier did was fight over a man the entire book. She didn't revenge her family's deaths, and there was no closure from book 3, and how is she still with head? When he is the one who set Jason up to be murdered. And she never found out everybody played her in this book. she didn't grow at all just repeating the same mistakes but only difference is she's in her 30's with money. Head secret was just weird and unnecessary I feel like the story lost its plot.
