Can’t Tell Me Nothing is a critical anthology that helps us to talk about things that hurt when it comes to Black hair; what makes us uncomfortable and squeamish with pain as we recall our personal history with hair care from the kitchen to the salon. Sixteen brave Black women have poured out their souls in this book. They share about their unspoken pains and hair traumas; the things we don’t like to talk about when it comes to Black hair, but they impact us just the same. My hope is that this anthology will serve as a guide, helping Black women to become comfortable in their truths when it comes to their hair.
