Queenie is a relatable, darkly comic take on a Jamaican-British woman living in London trying to recover from a messy breakup, gain some attention among all the white middle class peers at her newspaper job and, most of all, fit into two different cultures.
We spoke about her motivations for writing Queenie, her career, the lack of diversity in publishing and what she is planning on doing next.

HI Candice, I want you to write other books, but I also want more of Queenie. You can write it, and eventually do with it as you will. Your current publisher doesn't own your will.
