Unfortunately, for the author, the virtual voice did not do it justice. The story was good, but there was just no emotion whatsoever in the virtual voice. It’s probably a good read.

I didn't like anything, the story was aweful, predictable, and odd. From the beginning the story didn't make sense.

I heard this was based on a true story.
This was a suspenseful and sad story. Joe lived his whole life thinking he killed Caitlin. The guilt and secrets he was carrying around were causing him a slow descent into a very dark place. Sad because had he not been so young he may not have covered it up the way he did and found out the truth, that it wasn’t his fault. Caitlin’s family would have had closure.
Still, to do what he did after to cover it up and then going on to marry her sister takes a certain, very calculating person.

Surprisingly good virtual voice narration

Overall, the story was entertaining and towards the end I really wanted to know how it was going to end. But the virtual voice ruined the book for me. It was so hard to get into just because of that.

I liked the book a lot but not a fan of virtual voice. Not interested in listening to more books narrated in this manner. Words and punctuation pronounced incorrectly which was very annoying and distracting to me.

The AI was monotone making it hard to listen to. Story lost in the reading style.

AI disappointed

This was so poorly written it was probably written by AI, and the AI narrator had so many mispronunciations it was terrible. The story itself was ok but could have been much better and the only likable character was the best friend. I never leave bad book reviews buy almost didn't finish this one!
