 God is here with us. Here on earth. Jesus was called Immanuel, which means, ‘God with us.’ (Matthew 1:23) He’s here with us, but we are still here.

There will come a day when we are there with him. Not here anymore. We will cross over. Jesus will still be with us, but not here. He will be with us there.

This side of glory, this side of the ‘chasm’, we still battle. The war is won in Christ, but we still battle. We fight against mortality, sin, sorrow, pain. We fight for souls for God’s kingdom here and now, and God's kingdom there and then.

This side of the divide we do see, ‘but only a reflection.’ We do know, ‘but only in part.’ Jesus is with us here, but we are still here.

In this short book I reflect on doing life with Jesus on this side of the chasm…
