Our Life of Adventure and Joy

This is an eBook version of the 79-page paperback booklets we gave out as favors to friends who came to our 60th wedding anniversary celebration at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 24, 2019. In it, we retell the story of our unsuccessful attempt to sail across the Atlantic Ocean in a 31-foot sloop in 1990. Our dramatic rescue by the Coast Guard on the third day of an unexpected storm, 200 miles southeast of Nantucket Island, is but one of the adventures we have shared during our long marriage. We also tell about renewing our vows, all alone, on our 50th anniversary, and the thoughts we had as we prepared to renew our vows in a very public way on our 60th anniversary. Finally, we reveal the secrets of our long marriage and write of how we struggled to rise above man's eternal quest for mere happiness, seeking instead a life of shared adventure and joy.
