By Faith, Not By Sight is a moving story of hope, faith, persistence and the power of dreams. A piano prodigy, a nineteen-year-old college grad, a Marshall scholar, and an American Idol finalist: This guy had it made. He could sing. He could ski blind. What couldn’t he do? Even if you saw him in concert, you might not believe that Scott MacIntyre was blind, and you’d never guess that at 19, he faced a diagnosis that rocked his family and nearly took his life. So how did he do it? How did he overcome the odds?
This is Scott’s story, but he’d be the first to tell you that it’s not really about him. This is the story of how God used a dedicated family, a selfless acquaintance, hardship, and a host of characters to give him life, faith, determination, and experiences most can only imagine.
Peek behind the scenes to see how he learned to overcome his disability, how he made it in the music industry, how he found the love of his life, and how God taught him that in all things, we can truly achieve our dreams By Faith, Not by Sight.

What did you love best about By Faith, Not By Sight?
It is amazing what the author overcame, blindness being the very least of those issues. What does Todd MacIntyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
There were times when his reading was a bit overdramatic, but I think that has to do with being so close to Scott MacIntyreAny additional comments?
The writing could have been better, but the story was still captivating. For instance EVERY British accent was described as clipped. I appreciated how transparent Scott was talking aobut his struggles. I thought there were times when he patted his own a ack a bit uch but then again he had to do that for the book.Very inspirational and interesting

Would you consider the audio edition of By Faith, Not By Sight to be better than the print version?
I never read the printed version. What was one of the most memorable moments of By Faith, Not By Sight?
The most memorable moments for me was every time Scott was about to live his heart desire, the appearance of a road block would appear. It helped me to realize in my life how some times our life will take on the appearance as if nothing is happening ,when in fact we are always being prepared. My husband died of end stage renal failure and I never understood the depth of this disease. Scott Family strength was Outstanding and Couragous they were so Lucky to have each other. What about Todd MacIntyre’s performance did you like?

Would you listen to By Faith, Not By Sight again? Why?
Yes. This book speaks to me on many levels. I have connections to visual impairment, Christianity, singer/songwriting, and organ transplant recipients. This book touches all those elements and more.Who was your favorite character and why?
Scott, Christina, Scott's mom. I wish I had gotten to know Katelyn and Scott's father more. I felt like I learned about Scott, his mom, and his brother...What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Some of the narration was flat, some was a little too over-dramatic. Overall, he did a good job.Any additional comments?
I found this book was, for the most part, a great addition to singer-songwriter biographies. Scott's description of life as a visually impaired performer was compelling. Though some passages are repetitive, self-agrandising, or over-dramatic, I will read this book again. I laughed and cried and was scared in equal measure for Scott and his family. Good job!A good biography
