Prayer is the most misused, misunderstood, and un-used resource we have available to us. God created us in his image. His image! Do you understand what that means? It means we are as like God as any aspect of creation can be. It means we are special. It means God very much desires to have a relationship with us - one that is deeply personal. It means he will listen and answer our prayers when we pray because of his desire to be close to us.

You don't ignore your spouse, your children, your friends, or your boss when they talk to you, do you? Of course not! You also expect them to listen to you when you have something to say. So why do you think it should be any different with God? The answer to that question is this: It shouldn't be. Your willingness to talk to God and to have him talk to you should be even greater than it is with the other relationships you have in your life.
