Brush Tales; Silent Stories is a collaborative visual art and creative writing project designed to reconcile us to life’s disappointments in the most delightful way.

Have you ever kept things that have happened in your life kinda buried deep under piles of stuff, like in the bottom of your closet? And you don’t think about them much... until someone tells you it also happened to them. Then out comes your story, perhaps with tears, perhaps with the recognition that you’re not alone, and perhaps with the chance to clear a path through and feel a laugh in your soul again.

Life recovery, mental health wellbeing, and soul healing are connected to sharing stories ~ sharing our stories unlocks the power of restoration. Everyone’s heartbreak is different and everyone has their own unique story that is worth telling.

Brush Tales isn't offering solutions, it is giving the reader a bittersweet protected place for our grief. The stories offer a place of safety, allowing us to be vulnerable in that space.

Brush Tales; Silent Stories is a bittersweet journey, meeting life’s challenging moments on the road of hope and freedom.

The semicolon in Brush Tales; Silent Stories is significant. Those who know, know. A semicolon is used when an author could have chosen to end their sentence; but chose not to. The author is you. The story is your life. It means your story has not ended, but paused to overcome hardship. The semicolon is a sign of hope. It represents resilience, courage and strength.
Life is a rollercoaster, and at times, it’s white water rafting with no safety belts! But there’s a richness in the ups and downs that can be embraced and freedom released when we tell our stories.
