At just 23, Pieter took a leap of faith, leaving behind a promising career in industrial design to join an ashram in France, where he studied under the revered Swami Ritajananda. His path eventually led him to India, where he lived as a monk for over a decade.

When Pieter met his eternal soulmate, Jenna—his "Sister Moon"—he began a new chapter, integrating the lessons of his monastic life with the joys and challenges of the modern world. Together, they founded the Path of Light Center in Virginia.

In this deeply personal memoir, Pieter shares the extraordinary twists and turns of his journey: his early years of spiritual exploration, the rigorous discipline of monastic life, the challenges of leaving it behind, and the joy of building a life of purpose and love.
