Strong Women Doing What it Takes

A generational story about surviving trauma, strong women, and a life-long secret that, when revealed, doesn’t make things better, but explains a lot. I appreciated the detailed clips of history and Terry Squire-Stone’s smooth transitions between characters and timelines.

Patty Stone’s performance was excellent, especially her portrayal of Gram. I found myself subconsciously struggling for breath along with the character!

The audiobook kept me interested and waiting to hear what happens next. Terry’s writing kept me on the edge of my seat at times.

Wow! What a story!
First I’d like to quickly mention that Patty Stone’s narration was phenomenal. She really embodied these women’s voices and stories.
I almost felt like I was listening to one of my aunts telling a family story. It hits all the decades and what those decades meant in history for women in particular. The depth of each woman’s story was told thru the images of history. I absolutely loved it and would recommend this to all my women friends… male friends too.
