Resumen del Editor

Adri Paige is too busy dealing with the emotional fallout from losing half of her family to deal with boys. At least she thought so until the two most intriguing guys in her new school take an interest in her.

Both boys are gorgeous and blessed with obscene amounts of money. They should have the emotional depth of note cards, but instead display undercurrents she doesn't fully understand. Rumors the pair destroys peoples' livelihoods seem ludicrous until she gets caught in the crossfire and her family almost loses their home. She's increasingly unsure either boy is really human, and their rivalry is rapidly turning deadly.

Not Broken

Any additional comments?

A troubled young girl dropped into a new school and torn between two rich, handsome and powerful young men. This is the first book of the trilogy.

The Werewolf Version of Twilight minus the Vamps.

What did you love best about Broken?

Oh my! Where to start! Adri and her mother have relocated to a new town to escape the heartbreak of losing her father and sister in a tragic car wreck. Adri suffers from anxiety that makes her black out and lose time. She has never been one to let herself get involved with boys, a bit of a book worm, but not really the girl boys typically fawn over. We have Brandon, seemingly the boy every girl wants but is only interested in her, but why? Alec is the other male that is interested. The boys are polar opposites from their hair to their interactions with her. Adri has no idea what she has walked into when she starts hanging with Brandon.
This book has such great depth. Dean Murray has created a story that left me wanting more. I want more Alec, I want more Rachel, and I want more Adri. I am excited to see where this story goes as the characters age/mature. This book will gear towards YA and NA readers alike, albeit limited on the steam factor.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Broken?

One of my favorite moments was the climax towards the end, wondering what happened in the big fight. Anticipation was huge.

Have you listened to any of Sandy Rustin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first audio book from Sandy Rustin. Sandy did a great job giving each character their own personality via accents. She provided great depth to the book and was well prepared.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I loved this book and can only equate it in likeness to Twilight. It was a great read both visually and in audio. (I did both).

Good story

This is a very good story that I enjoyed very much . The characters have depth and quality, the suspense was good with some nice twists and turns . Some of the questions I would've voiced in this review are probably answered in the companion book ,Torn, I noticed right before I did this review. So I will read it then finish up .

Disappointing

At first this book wasn’t so bad. It felt like a twilight fanfic, but I never minded those. Slowly though this book just got stupid. Parts didn’t make sense other parts felt like the writer was telling me all the things she wished she had. The character was beyond annoying, always putting herself down. Fickle moving on from one guy to the next. Obnoxious thinking about a stupid dance instead of the impending bla bla bla. Just really seriously disappointing.

Total teenage indulgence

Very much a teenage indulgence book. Echos twilight but plays with perspective more. Not in love with the narrator. Definitely a good “zone out book” adri’s perspective is more slow than Alex’s by a long shot.

Had a hard time finishing it

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I would not want my teenage daughter to read this book. It sports an absentee mother who is over protective when she is around but displays little concern for her emotionally fragile daughter by leaving her alone for days at a time. This daughter hardly ever eats (because of emotional trauma) and that is OK. It also suggests that lying to your parents, friends etc. is a desirable thing to do. Don't forget that the best looking guys are the only ones that matter. If these are desirable traits to you then this book is for you.

I did like it at first. There was potential and much was left hidden to create interest. I like the idea of how trauma affects the life of a young girl but was very disturbed with the mother. It did not make sense to me her over protectiveness and yet she just leaves her alone for days. I can't imagine a mother who would do that especially with an emotionally unstable daughter.

At times it bothered me how closely it resembled Twilight. Too many similarities bordering on copying.

The book does a sudden about face in the middle of the book and those you thought were good guys are now the bad guys and visa versa. It really became difficult for me to take when Adrianna does a total about face and changes who she “Loves” It was too abrupt and did not demonstrate how their relationship formed. At least the previous “love interest” showed some caring until he went wacko possessive. She seems to not have a backbone in the last portion of the book either.
