Resumen del Editor

Kevin Breel burst into the public's awareness when at 19 his TED talk became a worldwide phenomenon. Through the lens of his own near suicide, he shared his profoundly vulnerable story of being young, male, and depressed in a culture that has no place for that. Boy Meets Depression is a book that explores what it means to struggle and tells an honest, heartfelt story about how a meaningful life isn't found in perfection; it's found in our ability to heal and accept the dark parts of ourselves.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Kevin Breel has single-handedly demystified depression through his shockingly honest, first-hand account of the struggle. This is an absolute must-read." (Josh Shipp, the Teen Whisperer, TV personality and author)

Great story!

I listened to the Ted talk, then bought the audiobook. It's a great story about someone who struggles with depression as a young kid. It's hard to listen to some of the parts, not because it's poorly written, but because he really does struggle. It's worth the time to read or listen to. I recommend it.

Amazing!

Absolutely loved it! One of the best books I've listened to in a long time.

Still living as a teen

The only thing the tale has going for it is how stubborn the protagonist is. Otherwise, all the self-depreciation and “now-I-know” refrains quickly steer the reader into not caring much about what happens next.

LIFE CAN BE MESSY, BUT A MESS CAN BE A BLESSING

I'll be brief. Although this audio book, which is about a dark and deep subject, can seem to some people to be a daunting listen, it was ultimately comprehensive and uplifting. Kevin Breel relates many of his life experiences, yet he sometimes related back to me my similar feelings and life situations. Although I don't really know Kevin yet, I feel a kinship with him. I think that everyone who listens to this audio book will benefit from doing so, I sincerely thank Kevin for allowing me to know him at his deepest level.

Boring, Self-Indulgent

Very boring, self agrandizing, self indulgent, faux-deep. I read this book to get a an insight into male mental illness but the story is so shallow it’s worthless in that regard.
