I was once told that I didn’t understand the world I was born into. And while that is somewhat true–it was the people that were the closest to me that I didn’t understand, not the world.

I was seen as nothing more than an unwanted pawn in a game I was unaware was being played while being moved strategically around an invisible board. But yet, I was the most important piece needed for all parties present in my life.

The games they played have now caused me to have blood on my hands. Their sins, mixed with years of half-truths, constantly weigh me down.

I am suspended in a push-and-pull battle of not being able to move forward until I get the answers I am seeking.

So when the opportunity to run away presented itself, I didn’t think twice and left with only the clothes on my back. With Rose by my side, we are doing what we must to survive while running to the freedom we both crave.

But somewhere along the way, we wronged the wrong person. They kidnapped Rose from our motel room as we slept and now it’s up to me to try and get her back.
