The upmarket clues descend - literally underground - into the grimy, graffiti-splashed, abandoned subway tunnels.

There, she teams up with the elusive Night Owls to stop a bird buyer from incorporating his purchase into a powerful destructive potion.

Armed with her sharp wits, her loyal tuxedo cat - Midnight, and Edgar the cryptic guiding crow, Penelope must outsmart the traffickers and the buyers.

Penelope must save these animals and find the killer. Or, will she be zapped by the subway’s third rail ending her pet-sitting gigs?
