But the truth has powerful enemies. The Cincture, a secret Vatican order sworn to suppress heresy, will kill to ensure the scroll never sees daylight. Their ruthless leader, Father Matteo Varela, believes that exposing the text would ignite chaos across the Christian world, and only fire can purge such dangerous knowledge.

As earthquakes rumble beneath Pompeii, Elias and Lucia race to unlock the scroll’s final secrets while evading relentless assassins. In the ruins of a temple shuddering on the edge of collapse, they must choose: protect the fragment they’ve salvaged, or destroy it to prevent global upheaval.
