Resumen del Editor

From New York Times best-selling author Helen Brown comes a funny and moving account of her life-changing month as a foster mother - to a homeless cat named Bono.

After a brush with cancer, Helen Brown, happily married for 22 years and with three grown children, took stock of her comfortable suburban life and found it wanting. Seizing the day, she headed to New York, the city that never sleeps, where she was talked into fostering Bono, a rescue cat in need of a forever home.

Together, cat and woman discovered that, in the end, home is where the heart is, wherever that may be. In the tradition of Helen Brown's international best seller Cleo, which has sold more than two million copies worldwide, Bono is a funny, tender and insightful story about life, love and recovery - and a charismatic cat with rock-star looks and a big heart.

Australian visiting New York fosters cat

I felt like the book was more about her adventure in New York then it was about Bono. I wondered a lot more about the cat, Bono.

I listen to it on audio.

Bono the rescue cat

Absolurely loved this story. As a proud cat mama of 13 rescue cats I get it! Bless you for giving Bono a chance to show you a cat love.

Great book

Loved every minute. Even though the beginning was boring, as you listen to the book you will understand why it started the way it did. So perfect.

A Story About The Writer, Not So Much The Cat

I adore cats, and I love reading/listening to stories about extraordinary cats and their owners. Dewy, Homer, Bob, etc. This book I found to be a huge letdown though. To me, if it were properly titled and advertised it would have a picture of a crochety old lady on the front, and the text on the cover would read:

"How a selfish, whiny, pampered elderly lady discovered how bad a cat owner she is, but at least made a minimal effort to find a cat a much better home".

Because that is actually what the book is about. The actual book deals very little with Bono (the cat). We get chapter after chapter about herself, her husband, her daughter, their lavish trip to New York City, the plays and musicals that they saw, their clothing shopping, their fine dining, the people that they met, and on and on and on, with only very small snippets about Bono in between all the nonsense. Then she tacks on an ending and all this phony baloney reflection on how much the cat changed her life, blah blah blah, which rings completely hollow since she couldn't even be bothered at the time to properly bond with him, with figuring out how to give him his medicine, or even put in a legit effort to try to find him a new home, without complaining and whining about having to do it.

Yuck. Pass on this one, there are way better stories about people who genuinely do have legit stories about their extraordinary cats, and the efforts and sacrifices that they've made to keep their cats living a great life.
