Another Great Visit to the Island

For a reader/listener who doesn't generally enjoy novellas, Kendra Elliot has managed to make a fan out of me with her continuing series. She has deftly fleshed out her characters (my main complaint with these short stories), in such a way that I'm fully engaged with them. This has made all the difference for me.

Fans who prefer to devote shorter periods of time to their reading hobbies will find these a wonderful alternative. In a short time span, the author weaves a great stand-alone tale filled with characters that we've grown to love, admire, respect, or loathe. While it's possible to enjoy these as stand-alone reads, I recommend starting at the beginning and getting the full history of these outstanding characters and the fascinating location of Widow's Island.

3.5 Good Story. Meh Narration

This was one of the better novellas. It was face paced and full of suspense. Each characters emotions were heartfelt and somewhat complex.

I was pleasantly surprised that the author was able to fit so much into such a short read. Even the bad guys emotions were complex. The different ways they reacted to the situation made me wonder how they ended up there. I guess that is not the kind of thing you can go too deeply into in a short story.

The narration didn't do much for me at all. A couple of times I wasn't sure who was speaking. I had to rewind.

I thought the story had an interesting series of twists that were used to helped them find Henry. It was nice that they got their HEA in the end. I would give this 3.5 stars.

Another great addition!

I enjoyed this novella which made a great addition to the series. Henry, the local Doctor, Fiancé of Cate, an ex FBI agent is abducted to “save” & care for a fattily injured bank robber. His life is on the line as the head of the trio of men told Henry that if he dies Henry will die also. Thus starts all the action!
Narration is very good.

Another great addition

I really enjoyed this one. It was great to get to come back to Widow’s island. This time around Henry is in trouble and our group is scrambling to figure out where he is in order to get him back. The story was engaging and pulled me in from beginning to end. It’s a shorter but well done.

Romance with suspense!

I have been devouring this series one book after the other as quick as I can!!! I love the story, the suspense and the romance

I was glad to see there were more books in this series and had to jump on immediately and grab them. All of the books in this series are really good. Moving on to book 10.

I’ve have loved this series. For some reason Goodreads showed this in my Want to Read instead of Read shelf. I listened to the audiobook with this one because it was an option. I don’t recommend that. I love this series because the female characters are strong. But they just came across as whiny in the audiobook.

I love the Novella storyline and catching up with the characters. But, the narration made it so painful.
